Sleipnir 3 for Windows

Start-up / Close

How to change the homepage: You can freely set the page to be opened for new tabs.
You can set this from Customize|Client|Start/Home|Home Page.

How to not restore the last session when starting-up the application again: You can set this from Customize|Client|Tab|Restore tabs.

How to delete the history when the application is closed: Please insert a check into [Clear internet history] in Customize|Client|Start/Home/Exit.

How to check if you are using the latest version: Please click [Update Check] at the bottom-left of Customize.

Feed Reader

How to register from Feed Central: Access Feed Central (URL) and click on the banner you want to register from the list.
Registering is proceeded in line with the site tutorial for each web site. Registering keywords, URLs and more is extremely simple.

How to register the sites you like: If there is an RSS icon (Insert image) displayed in the address bar, it is a site that is transmitting an RSS feed.
　Click on the icon and then select [FeedReader]. After this is the same as registering bookmarks.

How to switch from Google Reader: Log into Google Reader.
Google Reader feeds can be added to FeedReader by selecting import from Option|Import and export|Import from Google Reader.

How to switch from Headline-Reader Plugin: Initialize the current feeds and import.
The feed list is overwritten when you select import from Option|Import and export|Import from Headline-Reader Plugin located in the feed panel.

How to hide spam articles: Articles of specified URIs can be set to be automatically removed.
Click on the spam article, and then click on Filter|Add selected item to spam folder located at the top of the feed panel.
Specify the URIs to filter and select the comparison method.
This is applied for all feeds registered to FeedReader.s

Security

How to switch the security: Please display the status bar from View|Status bar|Status bar.
Detailed settings can be changed from Customize|Client|Security.

How to delete the history: Click the clock icon once the bookmark panel is displayed.
You can delete the history by clicking [Clear all].

How to delete the search history: You can do this by clicking ▼ located at the left of the search bar and then selecting [Clear search history].

Engine

How to switch to the Gecko engine: Gecko engine support has been suspended since Sleipnir 3.5

Tabs

How to change the location of tabs: The tab bar can be placed at the top, bottom, left or right of the window.
You can change this from [Tab position] in Customize|Client|Tab|Tab.

How to protect tabs: Please double click on tabs you want to protect. If the drawing pin icon is displayed, the tab is protected.
Double click to unprotect the tab.

How to not display tab popups: Remove the check from [Display] in Customize|Client|Tab|Tab popup.

How to set the left tab to display when tabs are closed: You can set this from Customize|Client|Tab|Add and remove tabs.

How to restore closed tabs: The list of recently closed tabs can be viewed from Menu|Recently closed tabs.
You can also restore the previously closed tab by drawing a [U character] while holding down the right-click button.

Security

How to switch the security: Please display the status bar from View|Status bar|Status bar.
Detailed settings can be changed from Customize|Client|Security.

How to delete the history: Click the clock icon once the bookmark panel is displayed.
You can delete the history by clicking [Clear all].

How to delete the search history: You can do this by clicking ▼ located at the left of the search bar and then selecting [Clear search history].

Search

How to add a search engine: Sleipnir supports OpenSearch. Please click ▼ located at the right of the search bar, and then click [Add search engine].
You can register the engine of you choice from the displayed add search engine screen.

I want to search in pages: The page search bar is displayed when you click Menu|Page|Find on this page.
When you input the search keywords, the target keywords are highlighted.

Bookmarks

How to add bookmarks: You can add bookmarks by clicking the ✩ mark in the address bar.

How to import bookmarks: Please select the target browser from the Sleipnir button|Import bookmarks.

How to sort bookmarks: Bookmarks can be sorted by name, URL and date from [Sort whole bookmarks] in the right-click menu of the bookmarks panel.

How to manage bookmarks with labels: Please click Management in the Bookmarks panel, and then insert a check into [Label].

View

How to display Flash content: Please install Flash Player in WebKit. You can install it from the following page.

How to change the displayed language: This can be changed from Customize|Client|Languages.
For the list of supported languages, please refer to the following page.
Sleipnir Supported Language

How to encode: Encoding can be performed from Menu|Page|Encoding.

How to change the displayed zoom: The zoom can be changed from Menu|Page|Zoom.

Customize

How to place the command bar in the tool bar: You can do this by right-clicking the tool bar and inserting a check into [Command bar].

How to switch between Chrome Extensions: You can switch between enable/disable from [Extensions] after click Engine option in Menu.
You can also access it from chrome://chrome/extensions/.

How to customize mouse assignments: This can be performed from Customize|Mouse|Mouse alias. Please refer to the page below for further information.

Fenrir Pass

How to create an account: This can be performed from Menu|Fenrir Pass|Create new account.

How to check if you are logged-in: If [Log our from (user name)] is displayed in Menu|Fenrir Pass, you are logged-in.

Web App Linker: You can seamlessly share and save using web services from the integrated interface.

Smartphone App Linker: If you use the the free smartphone app "Sleipnir Linker", you can instantly send pages or information inside of pages you are viewing on your desktop.

Sync bookmarks: If you use the free Fenrir Pass service, you can automatically sync bookmarks with the Windows/iOS/Android versions of Sleipnir.

How to import bookmarks when you want: Remove the check from [Auto sync] in Menu|Sync bookmarks.
Click [Sync now] in Menu|Sync bookmarks to sync bookmarks.

Sleipnir 4 for Mac

General

Change the home page: Set the URL of the page of your choice in Preferences>General>Homepage

Check if you are using the latest version: If you select Sleipnir>About Sleipnir, the version number of Sleipnir you are using is displayed.

Search

Search the web: Input the keywords and then press Return.
You can open the search results in a new tab with Command+Return.

Search in a page: The in-page search bar is displayed at the top-right of the page from Edit>Find>Find.
The in-page search bar is also displayed at the top-right of the page with Command+F.

Search using various web services: Input a keyword and then the pull down menu appears. Select the search service from the menu.

Display

Enter full-screen mode: Click the arrow icon at the top-right of the screen.
You can also enter full-screen mode with Command+F.

Exit full-screen mode: Move the cursor to the top of the screen and then the menu bar appears. Click the arrow at the right end.

Default font settings: You can set the font settings of your choice from Sleipnir>Preferences>View.

Zoom in/out the display: Select View>Zoom In or Zoom Out.
You can also zoom in/out with Select Command+ / Command-.
＊Currently, only supported in the Black Edition.

Change the displayed language: The displayed language is determined using the settings of MAC OS. You can set it from System Preferences>Language & Text.

Tabs

Switch pages: The easiest way to switch tabs is to swipe pages. When the cursor is on the page, you can always switch tabs by simply swiping left or right. The way swiping is performed differs depending on the OS settings you use.

TrackPad or Magic Mouse + OS X Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8): Swipe left or right in the same way as when scrolling. 2 fingers are used for the TrackPad, and 1 finger for Magic Mouse. Please check "Swiping between pages" in the TrackPad or mouse field of the system preferences.

OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) + TrackPad or Magic Mouse: Swipe left and right with 3 fingers for the TrackPad, and 2 fingers for Magic Mouse.

Drag with the right-button of the mouse: You can switch tabs also by just moving the cursor left and right with the right-button of the mouse held down.

TiledTab: Tab view display/batch operations

You can check all the tabs at a glance, and find your desired tab in no time at all. Sites with the same domain are grouped together.

Pinch in on the TrackPad.
Click the TiledTab icon at the left edge of the tab bar.

Pinch in on the TrackPad.
Click the TiledTab icon at the left edge of the tab bar.

Click the rear of the grouped tabs.
Click the badge displaying the number of tabs.
Pich the TrackPad on tabs.

Pinch out on the TrackPad.
Click one of the tabs displayed in TiledTab, then you can return to the standard view.
Click the x-mark at the top left.

Close all other tabs: Please press the close button on the tab you do not want to close while holding Option on the keyboard. All other tabs will close.

Restore closed tabs: You can restore the tab you closed previously by drawing the U gesture.

Set active tab to tab on left (or right) when closing tabs: Please select Move to Left or Move to Right from the pull down menu of On Close Tab in Sleipnir>Preferences>Tabs.

Arrange tabs: You can easily arrange tabs by dragging them.

Bookmark

Add bookmarks: - Click the ✩ at the top-left of the screen.
- Select Bookmark>Add Bookmark.
- Add with Command+D.

Show/hide the bookmark bar: - Select View>Show Bookmarks Bar or Hide Bookmarks Bar.
- You can choose to show/display with Shift+Command+B.

Import bookmarks: [App Store version]
Please select the target HTML file from File>Import Bookmarks.
[Black Edition]
Please select the target browser or HTML file from File>Import Bookmarks.

Export bookmarks: Please select File>Export Bookmarks and specify the file name and save destination.

Manage bookmarks using labels: Go to Bookmarks>Show Bookmarks. Click the folder icon at the top left and choose Manage with Label from the pull down menu.

Sync bookmarks automatically or when you want: Go to Sleipnir>Fenrir Pass and ✓ Bookmark. In addition, you can sync bookmarks automatically at all times by ✓ Auto Sync.

Security

Display the certification of the site: Domain names are displayed at the top-right. The certification of sites are displayed when the padlock icon at the left side of domain names on sites using HTTPS are pressed.

Remove Cookies: Please select Remove All Cookies in Sleipnir>Preferences>Advanced>Cookies. The same Cookies as Safari are used. Other settings related to Cookies can also be set from here.

Display/clear the history: Please select History>Show History or Clear History.

Export bookmarks: Please select File>Export Bookmarks and specify the file name and save destination.

Manage bookmarks using labels: Go to Bookmarks>Show Bookmarks. Click the folder icon at the top left and choose Manage with Label from the pull down menu.

Obtain an account: Go to Sleipnir>Fenrir Pass>Create Account, and then fill-in the required fields.

Check if you are logged-in or not: If your username is displayed in Sleipnir>Fenrir Pass, then you are logged-in.
